Smoked Meatball Sub

  • 1lb. ground beef
  • 1lb. ground sausage
  • 1/2 cup Pork Panko
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 1 tbsp. Italian herb
  • seasoning
  • 1 16oz. jar of marinara
  • sauce
  • 6 hoagie style buns
  • Shredded mozzarella
  • cheese
Smoked Meatball Sub

Step 1

Combine ground beef, sausage, Pork Panko, minced onion, and Italian seasoning and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Step 2

Spoon meat mixture into a 1/4 cup and shape into balls.

Step 3

On a baking sheet, place meatballs onto your grill (or oven) for 30 minutes before increasing the grill temp to 350 until the internal temperature reaches 165F.

Step 4

While meatballs are smoking, smoke your marinara sauce in a cast iron skillet on the grill.

Step 5

Arrange cooked meatballs in the sauce and top with mozzarella cheese. Once cheese is melted, set cast iron aside.

Step 6

Place 2-4 meatballs in toasted bun and top with mozzarella.

Step 7

Dig in and enjoy!
