It's Summer and the Southern dishes are coming out in full force! We got this delicious recipe for fried green tomatoes from our friend Sarah over at Primal Bites. It's fun, quick, and perfect for a hot, lazy weekend snack.
Here's what you'll need!
Place milk, flour, Pork Dust, and eggs each in separate dishes, then cut the tomatoes into medium thick slices (1/4 to 1/2") . You're going to take each sweet little tomato slice on a flavorful journey to become the Fried Green Delicacies of your dreams. First, dip them in milk, then flour, then coat in egg, and finally top off with Pork Dust. When your little buddies are ready to go, heat 2½ TBSP ghee in a skillet over medium heat. Once the ghee has melted, fry the tomatoes in a single layer for 3-4 minutes per side. Voila! A low-carb delicacy that would make even the most Southern granny proud.
