Did you know it's possible (dare I say, preferable) to make grilled cheese sandwiches in the oven? They have all the deliciousness of the stovetop variety without the extra grease and mess that comes with frying. BRETHREN, I'm about to show you a new way. You may never go back.
First, gather your ingredients. As you may have guessed from the title, I'm personally a fan of Muenster. If you want, you can substitute whichever cheese it is that makes you sing. Here's what else you'll need:
Preheat your oven to 350. Spread each piece of bread with a small pat of butter. One on side, sprinkle with salt, pepper, and basil to taste. Next, add the cheese (I use 2 pieces per sandwich because I enjoy being happy).
Next, pop open a bag of Pork Clouds and crumble on top of the cheese. These will add protein, crunch, and joy to your sandwich.
Place the other slice of bread on top to complete your sandwich and layer between a sheet of parchment paper. Make sure your Halloween decorations are looking on.
Place your sandwiches in between two cooking sheets to get that good grilled cheese smooshed effect. Additionally, if you really want to flatten those puppies, you can add another oven-safe dish on top. I usually place my iron skillet on top of the cookie sheet and that works well.
Bake sandwiches for 20 minutes or until bread is crispy and cheese is ooey gooey melty. When you see them, you will know.
Top with balsamic and avocado and remember that there is good in the world.
(Seriously, don't forget the avocado and balsamic. Your mind will be blown.)
